The galaxy as we know it originated from a catastrophic event known simply as The Rupture. The epoch 7903 was calculated as such due to "SF-## Cancri", the Crab Nebula. It was discovered to have not been a natural supernova event around the year 2043 AD, but it took multiple centuries for the institutions that be to accept that the Crab Nebula was an artificial nova event.

Note: The self interest of the Vanguard's global government seeking interstellar expansion to legitimize their world government with the promise of galactic colonization led to disinformation and a repression of technosignature studies complicated the capacity for any human scientist to confirm the artificiality of the supernova remnant.

The map itself was not made with rote astronomy, it never logically could be. Capturing an epoch at the scale shown is not tenable. The information on the map is the product of information collected from encounters with other civilizations in the galaxy. Direct contact with ICC-03 (Prospect Space) also revealed the existence of ICC-00 (The Architect Expanse) and ICC-01 (The Phidians) through the sheer volume of information osmosis that occured not long after contact. The picture of the galaxy produced is in practice, incredibly incomplete. And it isn't even clear if there is any 'ICC-04', its existence was implied by a wandering nomad from the Architect Expanse. Meanwhile, ICC-02 was known to exist from inferred information from the Architect Expanse, but the civilization has yet to be encountered by any human.

To clarify, a Sprawl 'fragment' can mean anything from metamaterial laden debris belts to surviving matrioshka worlds. It can be just one star system or a whole cluster of star systems colonized in the region. The Sprawl's totality remains an enigma, why they colonized in the not-contiguous fashion they did is unknown and anyone who claims to know is peddling their pet theory on the matter.

For this reason, the field of galactic exploration has boomed as the galaxy only gets more immense the more the boundary is pushed. What was onced assumed by the Hart-Tipler Conjecture to be an empty and serene galaxy has turned out to be a vast complex web of decay and scavenger societies who fester about and vandalize the universe with their existence. The void should have been pure and empty, the unnatural crime of complexity and intelligence ruined what was already perfect and all it has done is cause mass untold cosmic scale suffering for concious entities on magnitudes of mass death the mind can't process due to the figures being represented in scientific notation. Along with the map and drafting a story (we'll discuss that next week), there also was work on the creation of a brush pack for procreate. It includes 30+ brushes (over 40 if you count the variants) with the general theme of being biotechnology based brushes. The original plan was to only make 18-26 brushes but the process of making new grains, brush dynamics and shapes was so addictive I ended up making potentially over 40 brushes. Some of them are very similar in practice, so I say 30+ due to the variant nature of some of them. It is nice to have another item on the Kofi shop, as for months the only item was a set of discord stickers. More such items will come to Kofi and I may also open up a gumroad account to sell the brushpack on along with other sites. Illustrations in the works also will make use of the brushpack as they are good for the post-sketch phase of digital illustration.
