Bioships and clearances

I drew some bioships.

They're called Ikeitans. I made use of the biosynthetic brushes to give them a unique look.

A Juvenile Urzine Fleet Ikeitan
An adult Ikeitan

The ikeitans get larger. The adult stage ikeitans are antimatter powered. The weird appendages they have are a fancy hyperspace exploit that enhances their maneuvering / diffusion of heat. Despite that they still have Violet radiators at the back (I cannot break from a color palette so glowing hues instead of red) around where the antimatter power organs are. There are backup reactors and ergospheric reactor approaches other biomorphics have figured out in more recent times. An adult ikeitan is often a couple centuries in age. The length of an adult ikeitan is a several hundred meters long. The crew is a variety of biomechas and uplifts who carry out specialized functions. The mind of the ikeitan has a mainframe cavity dispersed with coolants. The internal spaces are made with low gravity in mind, the crews are less given artificial gravity and more genetically modified to suit the conditions of space travel and low gravity lifestyles. The misothiesm of the Urzine Domain is a constant point of trouble given how much power these bioships have over the sectors they control. Be it due to hidden religious folks who continue to worship dozin, their own local mythology or even worse, the ikeitans themselves (can you imagine that, worshiping massive beings able to irradiate whole planets and traverse thousands of light years who wiped out the temples of worship you built to gods you now see as weak and inferior compared to the star leviathans? Why would you do that?).

A common feature one may also have noticed is the “symbolic plate” at the upper center of the design. These caps basically where they “grew” from and they open out to an open cavity area that smaller ships can land or leave the ikeitan from. It is separate from the hanger areas where crew piloted ships that carry out escort functions are kept.

Along with that, I also worked on a clearance script for my setting bible. So that's neat.

To understand what this JSON stuff is doing:

  • Clearance: The clearance level is a general spoiler handler, the bigger the revelation or deeper the 'layer' of understanding the player's profile has attained access to, the higher the clearance level.
  • Cluster Knowledge: As mentioned in a prior article, the setting is organized into 'clusters' which can be thought of as space continents/cultural regions and for this reason there is a 'regional knowledge' aspect where a player may know more about their local region but need specialty knowledge for other regions.
  • Specialty: Tag based filter that connects with clearance level that reveals domain based knowledge like worlds, societies, technology, species and so on.

It probably needs rework. In a bit of a ditch on this because I keep building a car without testing if it even works and I have no one who wants to even help with this so I am left often aimless and unclear on if what I am doing even works or is actually terrible to the point no one wants to even give it their time or attention. Hard to tell honestly.

Anyways this article hopefully will get me into the habit of continuing this despite the seeming void of interest I have to fight against.
